CAROL SINGING 2009 AT VICTORIA STATION

A big THANK YOU also goes to Carina for once again organising and running the carol singing at Victoria Station, London raising the amazing sum of £3,120 - despite the cold and the snow! Thank you also to all who participated in the singing on the day!

JUST GIVING - WINTER APPEAL

Thank you also to everyone who has also given via our Winter Appeal on Just Giving, which has so far raised us in excess of £5,000.

An auction of promises evening in London, watch this page for up dates on how to order tickets and the list of celebrities supporting this event.

The 1st Nightingales Day, a day where across the country events will be taking place for all ex-volunteers, sponsors and those interested in helping, supporting or just hearing more about Nightingales. In early January dates and events will be posted.

Carol Singing at Victoria Station on 1st December 2010 a yearly event that is a great fun and any time you come and sing or shake a bucket from 5 minutes before or after work to a whole day is greatly appreciated.

Spamlot supports Nightingales - Saturday 22nd November 2008

The cast and management of Spamalot had a collection outside the Palace Theatre, London. Members of the cast not only gave up their time after both the Saturday shows but also donated a large amount themselves. The audience for both shows were alerted to what Nightingales is doing by a speech given by Sanjeev Bhaskar, or King Arthur!! A massive £2217 was raised.

Also great thanks to Spamalot management's Lisa Fleming for permission to hold the collection and to Ben Heaf and Simon Woolley for their support.

Thank you to Miki Jablkowska for organising the whole event, without her it wouldn't have happened.

Carol Singing

The 5th carol singing event organised by Carina Saner was our most successful ever! Again, a brave crowd of singers and collectors gathered at 7.30am by the Christmas tree in Victoria train station and sang their hearts out through until 8pm. An absolute marathon singing effort, and we raised over £4,500 for Nightingales - smashing all previous records! A particular thanks to Davinia Grimaldi, Nick Saner, Mike Laws and Bridget Laws for their amazing commitment throughout the whole day.

FUNDRAISERS : We need you!

Nightingales needs £110,000 a year in order to give the children the lives they deserve. We need to actively fundraise in order to reach this target each year. Any help you can offer us would be VERY gratefully received.

How you can help:

1. Join a Fundraising Group!

Nightingales is looking for volunteer fundraisers to join the team around the UK. If you have some spare time each month that you want to use constructively, we want to hear from you!

If you are Devon based, join our Devon fundraising group by sending an email to Dave Cutts on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please provide your phone number.

If you live outside London, please send an email to Neil Roberts on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the following details: your phone number, your county and your nearest town(s). We will let you know of anyone else in your area who has expressed an interest in fundraising for Nightingales, to help form new fundraising groups around the UK.

2. Organise an event! If you have an idea for an event in aid of Nightingales, please email us. Let us know if you want us to email you a fundraising pack, which includes useful items for fundraising events such as templates for posters and flyers. If you want us to publicise your event on the website, then please include all relevant details. It also helps us if you can let us know your fundraising target, so that we can add it to our fundraising plan. Thanks!

3. Set up a free online Sponsorship Page! If you are raising money for Nightingales, why not set up a free online sponsorship page? Go to www.smartgive.com and click on the "Get Sponsored" link on the top left, then "I want to get sponsorship". You will have to register your details, and will receive confirmation of your username and password via email.

Return to the "I want to get sponsorship" page and add details of your event. Write Nightingales Children's Project into the charity field and then follow the rest of the instructions to set up your own personalised fundraising page for easy sponsorship!

4. Other ways you can help!

· Buy beautiful handmade cards from Emmie-Lou, who have very generously offered to donate 50p from every card sold to Nightingales. Visit www.emmie-lou.com .

· Donate your Airmiles and Nectar vouchers. If you have any to spare please send them to Reg & Julia Bale, Meriden Lodge, 11 Colin Road, Paignton, Devon.

· Donate small holdings of shares to Nightingales through ShareGift. Go to www.ShareGift.org or contact them on 0207 337 0501 for more information, and remember to nominate Nightingales as your charity.
